About Tim....
Originally from southern Alberta, Tim Isberg is an accomplished singer-songwriter, veteran soldier and multiple award nominee. From Rwanda to Afghanistan and other deployments in-between, Tim experienced the best and worst humanity has to offer.
As a performer, Tim has entertained audiences in many corners of the world. Many of his storyteller songs stem from these life adventures and in his years abroad, Tim was a favourite on folk club circuits and in group performances for deployed military and civilian personnel.
Tim brings an Americana style blend of well-crafted Alt-country, Roots and Contemporary Folk songs to the stage along with an appealing vocal timbre and an array of life experiences he shares in a way that makes each listener feel connected. With genuine sincerity and a sense of humour carefully woven through stories and songs, it is Tim's live show - whether solo or with his full band - where he shines most.
An international tour in spring 2016 followed Tim’s album 'Tears Along The Road' was selected by Music Canada in the Top 25 Favourite Albums of 2015. Tim’s sophomore album ‘Running on the Edge’ was released in 2019 and nominated as Top 5 Best Album of the Year by the Country Music Alberta. The song 'Jerusalem Road' was selected as a Top 10 song among international songwriters. His acclaimed 2024 history-themed album "Prairie Fire" is based on captivating story songs of the people and events from the late 19th century Canadian Prairies and Western Plains. All three albums were recorded with Grammy nominee and JUNO celebrated producer-engineer Miles Wilkinson.
Tim is also a published author. Simon & Schuster published the book ‘Everyday Heroes’ which includes a chapter by Tim on one of his many experiences in the line of duty. It is a national best-seller.
Tim's solid guitar rhythms and ear-catching songs create a style of his own where listeners can escape into the story behind the song. His song "Devil on Your Back" of revenge on outlaws on the western Blackfoot Plains was a past finalist in the Best Song of Alberta for the Calgary Folk Music Festival.
Tim has an academic background in environmental sciences, western Canadian history and international studies, skills in training horses, and plays hockey the best way he knows how. His added experience as a public speaker and as a Master of Ceremonies for special events all contribute to a positive audience experience.

Special Show-Tour !
"25 Years After: Songs & Stories of a Canadian Soldier in Rwanda"
"25 Years After: Songs & Stories of a Canadian Soldier in Rwanda"
Short Version EPK Promo Video- '25 Years After: Rwanda'
2019 was the 25th anniversary of the tragic Rwandan genocide. As a young army captain in the summer of 1994, Tim Isberg was deployed for a one year mission to Rwanda as an unarmed UN Military Observer. It was his first of many tours of duty, but one that would change his life forever.
Combining a cascade of photographs, genuine stories and live music, Tim shares a very personal account of his experiences in Rwanda and songs it inspired. "If you are going to be a singer songwriter, it can help to have some hefty accrued personal baggage to enrich your lyrics and music..veteran Canadian Army officer Tim Isberg has that, in spades".
Barry Davis - Jerusalem Post |
